In 1960 after several years with the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company, William G. Pritchard, Jr. made the decision to start his own agency. His experience with Aetna identified an under-served segment of the business community.

Bill chose to deliver a highly professional, full service risk management approach to businesses with complex risk management needs. In addition to insurance products, he chose to understand the risk and legal issues surrounding businesses to help them with increasingly complex business issues.

Shortly thereafter, J. L. Jerden joined the agency, Pritchard & Jerden was formed, and
the agency continued to grow. Over 45 years later, J. L. Jerden is Emeritus and
Anthony P. Burger is Chairman of a 50+ employee insurance and risk management
firm that provides insurance services to businesses in every industry.

Our employees specialize in their chosen disciplines and are required to obtain major educational designations. Currently, our employee designations include: CPCU (Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter), CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter), CPA, JD, ARM (Associate in Risk Management), and others.

We are an employee-owned firm through our ESOP program. Therefore, our employees strive to provide the highest level of customer service as the satisfaction of each client
